Welcome to the Arcade Volleyball Online site. We present you a simple DirectX multiplayer online game for Windows with minimal requirements but outstanding performance. Enjoy playing the game with you friends and do not forget to tell us about your impressions and your suggestions.

And make sure to remember, volleyball is for fun and LuxRiot is for work.

MS Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2K with DirectX 3 or later (note for NT users: SP3 is sufficient)
DirectPlay 6 (or better) is recommended, NT users may download a redistributable from Microsoft

800 x 600 screen resolution (1024 x 768 is recommended)

Instructions

Installation instructions

You can install the ActiveX control loader by downloading and executing a setup application (96K). After you have installed it just follow the play link from this page. On a first run of the game the installation will be completed (may take extra 20-30 seconds downloading the page).

Starting the game

Just follow the play link to play the game. The game is running within Internet Explorer. One of the opponents starts the game as the host and waits while the other one connects to him, the other one starts the game joining the game created by his opponent. Joining opponent has to know his opponent's IP address to start the game.

Game rules

Each player has to control his character to strike the ball not allowing it fall on the ground and making it go over the net. Each player can make only three touches to throw the ball to the opponent's field. A player wins the serve if his opponent fails to throw the ball over the net. A player scores a point if his wins his serve. If a player wins his opponent's serve, he will serve the next one.

The game is over when one of the players scored 15 points.

Game controls

Use <H> and <K> keys to move the character left and right, and use <J> key to make your character jump. It is important that your browser window has the focus, otherwise the character won't move.

03-30-2001	Implemented is the game against computer (1.1.0.169), minor bug fixes.
03-24-2001	The game is made auto updated, ie. Internet Explorer will automatically update and older version of the game when a newer version is found on the server. Also site improvements and minor bug fixes.
03-17-2001	A Russian version of the game and the site created.
02-23-2001	Initial version of the site and the game (1.0.0.612) has been published.
